Trip to InspirationLand (AKA Ikea)

Hello there guys and dolls!

I have been suspiciously lacking in the craft department lately. Mainly due to lack of inspiration and frustration with the studio redo. Its hard to be crafty when your "creative space" is in shambles. (Sigh) But the studio is almost done...OK, about half done. But its getting there!

So in order to spark my creativity and on a mission to make my studio a creative place instead of just a room, I took a trip with my cousin to InspirationLand (AKA Ikea)! This was my first time going and let me just say.....AMAZING!!!! If you are near it and haven't been to the Ikea in Houston, TX you need to go! It is HUGE and shaped like Texas.

I got so many ideas for crafts and for my studio its unreal. I also bought some great little cabinet thingies for $5 a piece, a pendant light kit, a set of 6 glasses for $5 and a cute little panda. I also took some pictures that I am going to share with you!!!

These are the cutest little brackets that I want to hold up the shelves I'm going to put up over the craft table:

And they had these displays of some of their stuff hung like art. Like these plastic plates and bowls hung from the ceiling with fishing line:

So now I want to do that with some colorful art supplies for my studio! YAY!

The great thing about Ikea to me is not the great stuff they have (and they have some GREAT stuff) but the best thing is HOW they put things together in the showroom. Like this. Its 3 full length mirrors arranged in a trifold like the mirrors in the dressing rooms.

They just put hinges on the outer mirrors so they are adjustable! So simple, but I've never thought of doing that.

There are much, much more, but these are the ideas I'm working on now to put in the studio. I will definitely keep you guys in the know about my studio redo!

Happy Crafting and DIYing!
~Amanda~
